Jonathan Anthony Burkett is an entrepreneur, an author and a recording artist, and the story he tells in his own Spotify biography explains why his music sounds the way it does. This post follows that story from the beginning, using only what he has shared himself. Born in Miami, raised in Jamaica Jonathan Anthony Burkett was born in Miami, Florida in 1987. He was raised in Jamaica by his grandparents. That is where the story starts, and it matters because so much of his later work is about family, belonging and what it means to grow up without the support most people take for granted. His memoir carries the subtitle "The Life Of A Boy Who Never Knew A Mother's Love".
